Mossy Head School  This new facility will add a K-8 school program in Walton County and a portion of it will also function as a public shelter during times of refuge.  The facility was designed and constructed in two phases; the 90,140 gsf first phase comprises of a $16 million K-5 classroom building with core areas such as the administration, kitchen and cafeteria; the second phase is a 6-8 classroom building.

The main entrance leads up to a focal exterior courtyard area, surrounded on three sides by what is considered to be the central core of the building; administration to the west, media center to the east and the cafeteria/multipurpose room to the north. Classrooms are arranged in three parallel wings, each facing north and south, with double loaded corridors.  The project also included the design of a soccer field, basketball courts; a covered play area; a sewage treatment plant and a bridge to cross the rugged terrain of the site.
