FSU Turnbull Center Renovations

The renovation of the Turnbull Center reimagines the space as a flexible venue capable of supporting a range of events, from large conference center functions to intimate dinner series and culinary experiences. The renovation expanded the existing room and introduced a new kitchen to support the Center’s evolving program and hospitality needs.
A key design objective was creating a space that could seamlessly transition between different scales and types of events. Flexible furnishings and an adaptable layout allow the room to function as both a formal conference venue and a more intimate setting for small gatherings and dinners.

The new kitchen was designed as an active part of the experience rather than simply a back-of-house function. A large viewing window provides a visual connection between the dining space and kitchen, showcasing student culinary work and allowing guests to engage with the preparation process.

Together, the expanded room, new kitchen, and visual connection between dining and culinary spaces create a versatile environment that supports the Center’s diverse programming while celebrating the educational experience and work of its students.
