Maclay Performance Pavilion
To support its growing emphasis in the arts and music, Maclay School commissioned an open-air pavilion for performances and cultural events. Conceived as an emblematic campus landmark, the tectonic steel structure draws from surrounding campus design elements and allows for flexible use, with rotating walls that adapt acoustics and stage layouts for a range of events.
The pavilion includes a long-span metal roof system that enhances sound projection and minimizes structural interferences. A sloped amphitheater-like artificial turf audience seating area and subtle lighting contribute to its identity, comfort, and functionality, creating a vibrant hub for scheduled performances as well as impromptu campus gatherings.
